The gray dawn reveals muted colors
Green leaves reflect a glistening sheen
as the dull skies deliver their precious gift
The promise of radiant life anew
Flowers of yellow and purple
add to nature’s watercolor masterpiece
as the rain revives and refreshes
a tired and parched earth
I stand in the clearing
and lift my arms to the heavens
reveling in the beauty of the rain
Allowing its power of life
to wash over me and flow within me
For if the Goddess caused the rain to fall
Who am I, a mere man
to allow otherwise
